What: SHOOT HOOPS NOT GUNS YOUTH BASKETBALL
When: (Summer 2021) Every Wed. & Sat. - June 23 until Sept. 12 (10 weeks) from 3pm-6pm
Where: Texas Avenue Playground, Texas & Fairmount Avenue, Atlantic City, NJ
1. SHOOT HOOPS NOT GUNS BASKETBALL (formerly WE GOT GAME STREETBALL) engages boys and girls aged 10-16 with recreational basketball and includes coaching and mentoring, shoot-around, instruction and competitions.
2. We will group players into Age Groups, regardless of ability. Each Group is limited to max. of 30 players who will compete in FREE-THROW CHALLENGE, 3-POINT CHALLENGE and GOT SKILLS? DRIBBLE, PASS & SHOOT CHALLENGE.
3. Male and Female players will have a chance to compete in all competitions. Contests will be staged in quick succession in the following order: GROUP I (10-11) followed by AGE GROUP II (12-13) followed by AGE GROUP III (14-16).
4. Program organizers reserve the right to restrict or add to the number of individual participants or teams. Players are asked to arrive and sign up as early as possible.
5. We encourage and will strictly enforce player AND spectator sportsmanship. Excessive parent, family or fan inter-vention may result in the banishment of disruptive fans or disqualification of offending player. No yelling at or touching referees or court monitors or other officials will be allowed.
6A. Each player will receive a program t-shirt.
6B. Trophies awarded to first, second and third place winners of each contest or tournament in each age group.
7. We will make every attempt to provide referees or court monitors to ensure the safe, friendly and honest playing of each competition. FREE-THROW CHALLENGE & 3-POINT CHALLENGE WILL BE JUDGED BY ATTEMPTS MADE IN THE TIME ALLOWED. DRIBBLE, PASS & SHOOT CHALLENGE WILL BE JUDGED BY THE ELAPSED TIME OF COMPLETION.
8. In the unfortunate event of foul weather, the tournament may be shortened, or resumed on a later date.
9. We reserve the right to disqualify and deny future participation for any person that fails to conform to the rules and regulations stated here. This is specifically applicable in the instance of fighting, before, during or after tournament play, and foul language. All players involved will be ejected, regardless of fault.
10. Discovery at any time during the tourney of false player info will result in disqualification of that player from play.
11. Program organizers are not responsible for determining a player’s scholastic eligibility. If there is any question, we recommend you to contact your school’s basketball coach or athletic director. We comply with all scholastic regulations and award non-cash prizes.

12. GENERAL LIABILITY RELEASE and WAIVER OF CLAIM IN CONSIDERATION of the acceptance of entry as a participant in the 2021 SHOOT HOOPS NOT GUNS, the participant, and parent/guardian of participant, by signing this waiver form hereof agrees that the Program Organizers, the promoters, sponsors and any and all other persons or entities involved in this activity, together with all their agents, sub-contractors, employees or volunteers SHALL NOT BE LIABLE for injury to the participant, for any loss due to theft of or damage to the property of the participant, or for any other consequential or incidental damages in any manner whatsoever where any such liability is attributable to the absence of ordinary or even slight care by the Program Organizers in the conduct of this activity. Furthermore, such participant or parent/guardian of participant, DO HEREBY WAIVE any and all claims or causes of action against the Program Organizers which he/she or parent/ guardian of participant may have from the beginning until the present, and ad infinitum. Such participant, or parent/guardian of participant, further agrees not to bring or cause to be brought any suit on any such claim or course of action and acknowledges that the releases and waivers referred to herein shall apply regardless of whether liability is asserted on the basis of contract, strict liability or ordinary gross negligence.
Such participant, or parent/guardian of participant, further acknowledges that the execution of this Release and Waiver is continuing in nature, that is his/her free and voluntary act, that he/she shall not participate, nor allow their child to participate in this activity until and unless all parties have had full opportunity to their satisfaction to inspect the activity site and to receive all information from the Program Organizers which might bear on any decision to play or allow their child to play and that such participation is under no duress or undue influence.
Furthermore, participant and parent/guardian of participant, does hereby grant full permission to the Program Organizers to use any photographs, videotapes, motion pictures, recordings or other records of this activity for any purpose whatsoever and to do so without compensation to them. This Release and Waiver shall be construed under the laws of the State of New Jersey.
SIGNATURE BY THE PARTICIPANT, AND PARENT/GUARDIAN OF PARTICIPANT (REQUIRED!), VERIFIES THAT THEY HAVE READ AND FULLY UNDERSTAND THE FOREGOING STATEMENTS and further certifies that the information provided by the participant and parent on his/her registration form is true, correct, accurate and complete. Your signature on the registration form indicates your willingness and intention to abide by the highest code of sportsmanship. You agree to participate with no foul language, nor disrespect toward other players and officials.
